Personnel Managers Meet in Calabar, Pledge to increase relevance in the polity

For three days, Wednesday, October 24 - 26, 2007 human resource managers from various industries and different parts of the country gathered in the friendly city of Calabar , capital of Cross River State to deliberate on the challenges facing the profession in Nigeria.
The event, the 39th annual conference of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria not only afforded them the opportunity to interact among themselves but resolved to continue to add value to the various organisations where their services are being utilised.
The conference with the theme, "Optimising Human Capital Investment" was declared open by the Institute's President and Chairman of Council, Dr. Oladimeji Alo who stated that the objective of the conference was to create another platform for members to upgrade their knowledge on contemporary issues of importance to the profession and their job. "Apart from enhancing members knowledge on contemporary issues, the conference will also foster social interaction and provide an opportunity to make informed contributions to public policy in an area that falls within the Institute's mandate".

In attendance were some EPNL staff among whom were; the Manager, Support and Business Career, Onyekachi Omenuko, Head, Enterprise Development, Reuben Eguche, Head, Manpower Planning, Ogedi Agi, Head, Recruitment, Mr. John Owoferia, Mr. Bokoye Donald and Miyene Omuaru.
