Total Upstream Companies in Nigeria on Friday, 7-Dec-2007 joined their counterparts all over world to mark the anniversary of St. Barbe, the Patron Saint of Miners.
It was fun unlimited. The evening which paraded Captains of the oil industry, Senior Government Officials, Military and Police Chiefs, Media Executives, the Academia and the Expatriate Community in Port Harcourt, took place at the residence of the DMD (Corporate), Mr. Alek Musa.
The well decorated venue with dazzling stage lights and sound music gave guests an inkling of the memorable evening which was spiced with various performances led by standby comedian I Go Dye who was the compere. Others were the Ekpo Masquerade Troupe from Akwa Ibom State, the Exotic Dancers from Lagos, the Blackroots International from Ibadan, Romantic Rollie, Mossy B, Lady IB, Syke B and the Danfo Drivers who not only mesmerized the audience with their electrifying performances but kept them glued to the dance floor.
Welcoming guests, the DMD (Corporate), Mr. Alek Musa said the dinner, which has become an annual event is used to commemorate the Patron Saint of Miners. "Each year about this time, we hold this event to remember all those whose work involves mining and extraction of mineral or natural resources from under the earth. It's also an opportunity for us to express gratitude and show goodwill to all our partners, government and friends who supported us one way or the other in our activities during the year".
It was indeed an evening of fun and camaraderie.
